Libor Šmoldas is one of the leading Czech jazz guitarists. His concert activities span four continents and include world-famous cities such as New York, Washington, Sydney, Beijing, Istanbul, Vienna, Berlin, Denver, Toronto, Milan, Philadelphia, Melbourne, Dublin, Amsterdam, Stockholm, London, and Tokyo, as well as prestigious international festivals and clubs. Libor has performed and recorded with jazz stars including George Mraz, Jeff Ballard, Sam Yahel, Bobby Watson, Adam Nussbaum, James Morrison, Brian Charette, Gregory Hutchinson, Jon Faddis, and Jay Anderson.
Šmoldas has received numerous awards, including Best Jazz Composition of the Year 2014 and the Anděl Award for Jazz Album of the Year with the Organic Quartet. He has released 12 albums of his own, the most recent being Sorry, Miles! in 2026. He teaches at the Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory in Prague and regularly leads international workshops in England, Germany, Greece, Italy, and Australia. Both Czech and international press recognize his exceptional qualities and his leading position among European jazz guitarists.
